Antique Oak Spice Cabinet with Raised Panel Door and Drawers
$750.00
This antique quartersawn white oak spice cabinet, dating back to approximately 1820, features a beautiful raised panel door and houses eight interior drawers. The cabinet is expertly constructed with nail and dado methods, showcasing a charming rustic character with drawer bottoms that retain rough surfaces and early saw marks. The dovetail construction and oak nail mounted back enhance its integrity, while the tombstone arch cut bracket foot base adds an elegant touch. The raised panel interior is adorned with a walnut veneered banded edge and includes a brass tooled key escutcheon along with brass pulls on the drawers. Notably, the cabinet has been resurfaced and may have undergone early replacements, particularly evident in the molded crown and bracket feet. This piece is not just functional but also serves as a fine historical artifact.
